Before the top division of the Norwegian league system kicked off at the end of March, a preview video was posted on YouTube (see bottom of this post). By now, a bit more than three rounds later, we take another look, to see how the predictions for the league have changed as a consequence of the results observed.
Above we see the current table. Below we see how the expected points for each team has evolved over time. At the beginning this was based only on player transfers, and then afterwards also on the outcomes of the matches played.
From the perspective of the rating model, Rosenborg has of course underperformed, while Bodø/Glimt and Viking has overperformed, the latter being the biggest surprise so far.
Finally, we have the updated predictions for the final table. Molde is now the overall favorite, followed by Rosenborg. Ranheim is so far confirming its status as a relegation candidate.
